Welcome to Bodhi Hostel & Lounge

Under the sacred Bodhi Tree, Buddha achieved enlightenment. Our goal here is the same, a hostel in El Valle de Anton where travelers from all over the world can meet, discover and enjoy life together.

Located in the heart of El Valle de Anton, Panama, the second largest inhabited sleeping volcano in the world, Bodhi is a trendy new hostel owned and managed by a local experienced world trotter backpacker. Everything is designed with passion and nature in mind. Most of the furniture and decoration are handmade with recycled products or renewable resources.  Through traveling, we hope for you to learn more about our world, about yourself, about people and cultures. We want you to make new friends, and in the end feel a little “Enlightened.”

  • Bodhi Hostel was by far the best place we stayed during our year of travelling. The atmosphere is chilled, welcoming and arty.

El Valle is famous for its nature, spring like temperature, cozy atmosphere, trekking routes, “La India Dormida Mountain”, mud springs and Sunday Market.

We are right in the middle of town, at its main street;
Therefore, most attractions are located within walking distance and reachable by bicycle.
We are less than 5 minutes walking from the famous local market, 10 minutes from the Butterfly Haven and less than 20 minutes walking from the wildlife exhibition center called “El Nispero”.

El Valle De Antón

The Journey to Bodhi Hostel in El Valle de Anton is quite simple

Bus from Panama City to El Valle de Anton

From the Main Bus Terminal in Albrook Mall, take the direct bus heading to El Valle de Anton (leaves every 20 minutes until 7pm, $4.50). Upon arrival, ask the driver to drop you off at MELO, Bodhi Hostel is right next door.

Bus from elsewhere to El Valle de Anton:
Take any bus to San Carlos (most that runs on the Inter-American highway pass by there). Transfer to bus for El Valle de Anton. Upon arrival, ask the driver to drop you off at MELO, Bodhi Hostel is right next door.

By Car to El Valle de Anton:
From Panama City, drive west until you pass Coronado and San Carlos. Approximately 5 minutes later, you will see a bridge and a red sign on the right saying Las Uvas. Turn there, and in about 30 minutes you will arrive in El Valle de Anton. Head along the main street until you get to MELO (big yellow sign with green). Bodhi Hostel is located right next door.

Guna Yala – formerly known as San Blas – lies on the northern coast of Panama between Colon and Colombia.  Known for it’s numerous secluded islands, Guna Yala boasts white sand beaches, abundant coral reefs and crystal clear water.  This autonomous region is the home of the indigenous Kuna.  If you’re coming to Panama this is one of the places you must see.

Bodhi Hostels is excited to announce Guna Yala as the location for our second hostel.  We hope to see you there!

Bodhi Hostel offers accommodation in private rooms or in our 27 bed dorm. Both dorm and private rooms have comfortable mattresses, stylish details and a lot of natural light to make sure you enjoy your stay in The Valley to the fullest when you’re not outdoors. We hope to see you soon!
