El Valle de Anton's best hostel

Welcome to Bodhi Hostel & Lounge

Under the sacred Bodhi Tree, Buddha achieved enlightenment. Our goal here is the same, a hostel in El Valle de Anton where travelers from all over the world can meet, discover and enjoy life together.

Located in the heart of El Valle de Anton, Panama, the second largest inhabited sleeping volcano in the world, Bodhi is a trendy new hostel owned and managed by a local experienced world trotter backpacker. Everything is designed with passion and nature in mind. Most of the furniture and decoration are handmade with recycled products or renewable resources.  Through traveling, we hope for you to learn more about our world, about yourself, about people and cultures. We want you to make new friends, and in the end feel a little “Enlightened.”

  • Bodhi Hostel was by far the best place we stayed during our year of travelling. The atmosphere is chilled, welcoming and arty.

  • Everything is clean. There is hot water in the showers. The beds are very very comfortable, with curtains for privacy. They give you a fluffy towel when you check in and hair drawers are there for your disposal. Also, the free pancakes in the morning are yummy and the wifi is fast!

  • This hostel is absolutely beautiful! the atmosphere is very relaxed, its super clean and good music in the background. Every person is very nice and will help you with whatever you need.

  • [ut_quote_alt author=“stephdkrt”] We stayed at Bodhi for 3 nights and wnjoyed our stay! Our host Allen is a very nice, outgoing person who loves to help you make the most out of your time in El Valle. He gave us so much inspiration we decided to stay one night longer. We felt welcome right away [/ut_quote_alt]
[ut_quote_alt author=“bstar1982(Vancouver, Canada)”] Bodhi hostel is in a perfect location to do all the local hikes. The place is clean for you neat freaks. Each bed has curtains so you can have privacy. Pancakes and coffee in the morning and the place is like a little community. I met people at the hostel to do all the hikes with. [/ut_quote_alt]
[ut_quote_alt author=“lukemcd2(Valatie, New York)”] Best priced place in town, looked at a few other places and Bodhi was half the price. In a good location in walking distance to everything. Had a community kitchen which was a nice treat for us. [/ut_quote_alt]
[ut_quote_alt author=“TamaraAdriana(Wohlen, Switzerland)”] Me and my friend stayed at Bodhi Hostel for 3 nights. We really loved this place which is very central. El valle d’Anton is great with a lot to do and is a great change to Panama City and the Beach. The owner is very nice, he has a lot of travel experience and knows exactly what the needs of backpackers are. [/ut_quote_alt]
[ut_quote_alt author=“Tomek K”] Unlike other hostels in area, this one connects great price with nice service. Owners are backpackers themselves, which you can feel the very first moment you step into Bodhi – they are curious about your trip, your plans, your feedback – but not to be peeping, but to help you and feed their fascination.. [/ut_quote_alt]
[ut_quote_alt author=“Yannik Drnt”] Best place we stayed and amazing Host. We really enjoyed the time, thanks for everything! [/ut_quote_alt]
[ut_quote_alt author=“Brittany Farrell”]If you are coming to Valle de Anton, this is the best hostel ever! The hosts were super helpful and the amenities are incredible! [/ut_quote_alt]
[ut_quote_alt author=“Deborah Pa”] What can I say about Bodhi Hostel? Its just the 5 stars worth. We really felt good here and we loved the design there! Its clean, comfortable and you can meet amazing people there. [/ut_quote_alt]
[ut_quote_alt author=“Xuan Santer”] We had a great time in El Valle and such an awesome experience in this hostel, it was a pleasure to cook there since the mercado is just a block away and the kitchen is well equipped, the beds were clean and comfortable. The staff is super friendly, I can safely say you will walk away with new friends at Bodhi. [/ut_quote_alt]
[ut_quote_alt author=“Zmjj (USA)”] This was the best hostel I have stayed at in Panama. The staff was fun, always friendly, helpful, and easy going; the hostel vibe was great–it felt more like a community and people actually talked to each other instead of constantly on their phones; and the facilities were clean. The bed was comfortable, and I loved that every bed had privacy. I am definitely recommending this place to other travelers. [/ut_quote_alt]
